high speed.

!!   just in from the woolery:  !!

i recently ordered a high speed adaptor kit from the woolery for my wheel and am anxious to try it out.

it consists of a super small circumference whorl and drive band.  you use this whorl for making finer yarns.

a smaller whorl adds more twist with less effort.

now i don’t have to treadle like mad to achieve enough twist to create a smaller girth yarn!

i also ordered a pom pom making kit for corinne and i from the woolery.  what a nice find!  i like putting them on top of hats or decorating gifts with them and corinne struggled with making one recently with a cardboard template and it just didn’t cut it.

the pom pom templates are on the left – four sizes!

and an FO (finished object):

i love how it turned out.  and it’s a nice thick wool.

i embroidered some subtle eyes instead of using buttons (choking hazard!).

some friends of mine in the valley had a baby girl, tessa claire, on march 4th.  i started this for them:

i picked up this project bag while in hawaii:

i also scored a few project bags from the recent surveying and mapping conference courtesy of dewberry.  those dorky drawstring/backpack ShWAG bags make the best project bags!

and that’s all i have to share today.  :0)

’til then…
